BIG BIG BIRD

I took this photograph yesterday just 10 miles from our house. Amazing what wild life there is about these days! Bet you can't guess where I took it.

African Lady

I need to take photos all the time. So went round the house taking photographs of everything. This bust came from West Africa and was carved with a rusty nail and a stone. We watched the man holding the wood with his feet while knocking minute slivers of wood off with the nail. Not a bad effort!

Fields of Blue

I didn't add this picture because it is good. It's a terrible photo taken on a dull over cast day. I put it in because I thought you may not know about this: The paper mill at Shotton pays farmers £240 per acre to dump the residue left over from recycling news papers. The fields are blue because they are covered in blue ink. Farmers are earning vast amounts of money to pollute the land with this stuff, it looks and feels like lumps of putty, and when you walk over the fields you can smell the ink. So don't be surprised if one day you find yourself eating blue potatoes.

Lily

It's been ages since I put any photos on my blog. I have been so busy, and living out in the wild country like I do, broadband hasn't reached us yet, so it takes about 20 minutes to download one photo. Sometimes I get flowers, not often, but when I do, I photograph them. This lily looks like something from another planet.

Stevie

Stevie is so beautiful, she is tall, slim, has gorgeous skin and a really mischievious personality, always playing jokes on people, especially me. I have known her since she was a baby. But on the day I took her photo she had split up with her boyfriend and I couldn't get her to smile, not once, the sadness just oozed out of her.
