Raindrops

I love to take photos of raindrops on leaves or spiders webs. I've just bought a new macro lens for my camera so I should be able to take better photos that this.

The Oak at Kelsall

One of the photos I took for Cheshire Life magazine, it was published in the November 2006 edition. Kelsall has three pubs the Morris Dancer, the Farmers Arms and The Oak, it used to be called the Royal Oak, but for some reason has dropped the Royal. The food is really good, and its a warm cosy pub.

Clematis Cottage

I came across this cottage while driving through the Yorkshire Wolds. I gorgeous part of the country with wide rolling fields of wheat and barley, and tiny villages nestling in between.

Lac de Leiz

All my photos seem to be taken early in the morning. At this time the lake is like glass, the light is golden, and there is a quietness not found at any other time of the day. This lake is just outside Langres and we were camped beside the lake.

Delamere wildlife

This squirrel lives in Delmere forest. He was having his breakfast with the early morning sun lighting up his coat. He didn't seem to mind me taking his photo.

Lake Maggorie

We camped on the banks of Lake Maggorie and I took this photo at six oclock in the morning when everyone was still asleep. The morning sun turned the village a glorious golden colour.

Dragon

I should have noted the name of this creature, I think it's an iguana, but I'm probably wrong.

Nucifraga caryocatactes

I spotted this bird in our garden today, it has a jet black breast with white spots and is as big as a blackbird. I looked it up in our bird book and found its common name is Nutcracker. But according to the book we don't have them in this country. They come from Norway, Sweden and Russia, so this bird is a long way from home.

My Greetings Cards

My cards have been selling really well. I only have one outlet, a little Cafe called Summer Trees Tea Room, which is up the Waste at Kelsall on the edge of Primrose Wood overlooking the whole of Cheshire and the Welsh Mountains. Its open every day bar Mondays and Fridays. And everything is home made. The scones are stupendous. So far they have sold about fifty of my cards. So if anyone out there would like to buy any at the bargain price of £1 each please leave a message and I will send you some cards, postage free.

WOLFGANG

Don't know what happened, but the caption for this photo is further down the page.

PEACOCK

I took this photo in the grounds of Castle Howard. And he was the most un co-operative peacock. I followed him around begging him to open his tail, only to be rewarded with a quick flash, but too quick to focus my camera. It was just as I was giving up and walking away that he ran after me and opened up his tail for three seconds.

SWANLINGS

This looks like a nice easy photo. It isn't. I had to take about thirty photos just to get this one shot, and I had to wait ages and ages. The little swanlings! just wouldn't co-operate.

St.Wolfgang

We spent a week on the shores of Wolfgangsee, a calm lake surrounded by snow topped mountains. While Britain was having a heatwave, we were walking in boots, and coats and carrying umbrellas. But if the weather was hot, we wouldn't have been able to walk all the miles round the lake and up the mountains.
